Amanda is a Registered Psychotherapist licensed through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Amanda is an experienced and versatile therapist, committed to work with you to help achieve positive changes in your life. She uses a strengths-based, collaborative approach, and prioritizes client feedback in the therapeutic process. Amanda is passionate about delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) using guided discovery, and is dedicated to providing current, evidence-based practices that target your specific issues.

Amanda has worked in a range of clinical settings providing evidence-based treatment, including inpatient, hospital and outpatient settings. Most recently, she worked in the Intensive Treatment In-Patient Program for Yukon Government facilitating groups, workshops and individual therapy for adults struggling with substance use and complex trauma. She has also worked in rehabilitation clinics and private practice delivering CBT for adults with diverse issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, addictions, low self-esteem and relationship issues.

Education & Certifications

Amanda completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2017, a post-graduate certificate program in Addictions and Mental Health in 2014, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology at York University in 2013.

Amanda prioritizes continuing education and regularly attends workshops and trainings to be up-to-date on current advancements in CBT. Amanda is currently completing her CBT certification through the Beck Institute and TEAM-CBT certification through the Feeling Good Institute. She has also received training in Advanced Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Mindfulness. She has experience applying skills and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Structured Relapse Prevention and Solution-Focused Brief Therapies.
